Aura Governance

[AIP-46] Enabling the Aura Maxi through greater resource and vote allocation

Vote: No.

Rationale: This proposal has valid points, but the solutions proposed doesn’t solve the issue, IMO.

[AIP-47] Sunsetting the Aura Maxi - Entering the Yogis

Vote: Abstain.

Rationale: As part of the group, I didn’t vote.

[AIP-48] Enable USDC incentives to sDAI/EURE pool on gnosis chain

Vote: Yes.

Rationale: sDAI offers better returns, so it makes sense to incentivize a quick migration. And with the deployment of Spark Protocol on GC, I believe this pool will have a high tx volume.

[AIP-49] Enable Additional Rewards for the R/sDAI Pool

Vote: Yes.

Rationale: Raft is a protocol that is gaining traction and flexibility is mandatory on DeFi. It is a good initiative to enable the additional rewards to be used when/if it is necessary.

[AIP-50] Base Deployment

Vote: Yes.

Rationale: This is another strategic move to be present where Balancer is, and Base is a chain with a lot of potential. Excellent news for Aura.

[AIP-51] Secure AAVE DAO auraBAL mint and AURA accumulation through Swap

Vote: Yes.

Rationale: Aave coming to Aura as their strategy to sustain their GHO pools on balancer (their primary source of liquidity), is a win-win-win. Aave gets boosted incentive performance, Aura adds an important partner and Balancer deepens the relationship with Aave.

Balancer Governance

[BIP-445] Decide on direction of restitution for affected LPs in Boosted Pool Incident

Vote: Yes

Rationale: This approach aligns with the DeFi ethos of risk-awareness and active position management, while also providing a structured and fair means for affected users to report and potentially recover their losses.

[BIP-446] Enable 80/20 Weighted Gauge for $OVN (2% cap) [Optimism and Arbitrum]

Vote: Yes

Rationale: The proposal asks for a weighted gauge for the $OVN token on Optimism, Arbitrum, and Base, with a pairing of OVN/wUSD+. The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance liquidity and facilitate smoother transactions for users across these platforms. Additionally, the pair will be incentivized across the three chains.

[BIP-447] Replace gauges in Gnosis to maximise capital efficiency [Gnosis]

Vote: Yes

Rationale: The main objective is to maximize capital efficiency by replacing the gauges for pools using DAI with sDAI, and agEUR with stEUR.

[BIP-448] Delegate DAO Grant ARB to LM Multisig

Vote: Yes

Rationale: This proposal asks permit for the Balancer Maxis to vote in the ARB ecosystem on behalf of the DAO. The goal is to strengthen ties with all parties in the Arbitrum ecosystem and drive governance positively for the Arbitrum ecosystem.

[BIP-449] Add Child Chain Gauge Factory to Pseudominter on AVAX

Vote: Yes

Rationale: In order for claims to work properly on the Avalanche network, the proper gauge factory must be added to the L2Pseudominter. This allows the pseudominter to distribute BAL when the gauges from the respective factory on the Avalanche network call the claim function.

[BIP-450] Fund Balancer Grants Q4 2023

Vote: Yes

Rationale: The proposal outlines a detailed plan that demonstrates a thoughtful approach to optimizing the grants program, ensuring its alignment with Balancer’s strategic goals, and generating innovation and growth within the Balancer ecosystem.

[BIP-451] Enable wstETH/rETH/sfrxETH gauge [Optimism]

Vote: Yes

Rationale: This proposal aims to facilitate trading and liquidity provisioning among these diverse staking strategies of ETH. This move aligns with Balancer’s strategy of diversifying staked asset protocols, improving liquidity provision, and facilitating asset trade routes, ultimately benefiting both the protocol and its users through yield-bearing assets.

[BIP-452] Delegate BalancerDAO AAVE/stkAAVE to karpatkey

Vote: Yes

Rationale: The delegation is expected to empower karpatkey to better support initiatives that benefit both ecosystems Aave and Balancer), demonstrating a strategic alignment and active participation that could enhance the governance and functionality of both protocols.

[BIP-453] Deposit 160k BAL into Aave v3

Vote: Yes

Rationale: It makes sense to get passive income from the treasury BAL.

[BIP-454] Claim Second SAFE Airdrop

Vote: Yes

Rationale: This proposal asks for a vote for claiming the new allocations for existing $SAFE holders due to the passing of Safe DAO’s SEP-5, with the Balancer DAO multisig being one of such holders.

[BIP-455] Assisting DNS hack victims

Vote: Yes

Rationale: This proposal aims to assist DNS hack victims, providing compensation to users affected by a frontend attack, proposing a refund of 75% of their lost funds, taking precedent from BIP-443.

[BIP-456] - Funding Hypernative as Balancer Security Advisor

Vote: Yes

Rationale: The proposal outlines a comprehensive plan where Hypernative will conduct a full security risk and threat assessment covering various domains including Balancer’s infrastructure, processes, devices, supply chain, and interactions with third parties. It ensures a robust security framework, leveraging Hypernative’s proven expertise and previous successful interventions

[BIP-457] Core Pool Incentive Program Automation

Vote: Yes

Rationale: The proposal addresses the complexities and manual interventions required in the current system, proposing an automated system for fee redirection and incentive distribution.

[BIP-458] Enable 50GOLD/25USDC/25wstETH & 25GOLD/25BAL/25AURA/25wstETH [ARBITRUM]

Vote: Yes

Rationale: The proposal asks for the implementation of two specific gauges on Arbitrum: 50GOLD/25USDC/25wstETH with a 6% cap and 25GOLD/25BAL/25AURA/25wstETH with a 2% cap. This will help to enhance liquidity on Arbitrum.
